Innovation clusters
4 innovation clusters - laboratories for the innovations of the future
In 2005, France set up innovation clusters. Objective: to link up companies, research centres and educational organisations in order to create synergy around innovative projects worked on together. In Brittany, 4 clusters have been named as being among the most dynamic. They concern various domains such as maritime, future food processing, Communications and Information Technology (CIT) and automotive.
Working closely with the region’s other innovation clusters, they all operate on an international level. With a number of projects approved already, their record is very promising.

Breton companies can also benefit from the support of clusters based in neighbouring regions:
EMC2: the ambition of this cluster is to strengthen the positions of worldwide leaders in the production of metal units and complex composites for the pleasure boat, aeronautics, automotive, naval and military construction and water sports markets.
Atlanpole Biotherapy: this group aims to become the international reference point for the development of diagnosis and therapeutic solutions in the biotherapy sector.
