BA Healthcare is experimenting with a new walking rehabilitation robot

BA healthcare Robo-K

After three years work, the subsidiary of the BA Systèmes group, BA Healthcare (Mordelles) delivered two demonstrators of its Robo-K last November to Rennes General Hospital and the Centre de rééducation et de réadaptation fonctionnelle (functional rehabilitation centre) in Kerpape (Lorient). These walking assistance and rehabilitation robots could be used for patients suffering from neurological disorders (strokes, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, etc.) to improve their condition. This project is coordinated by the Laboratorie de psycho-sociologie (CRPCC – Laureps) at the University Rennes 2 and is therefore a joint venture between BA Healthcare, the Kerpape centre, Rennes Hospital, CEA List and the company Movea. The aim of the project is to analyse the inclusion of the device in the therapeutic process (taken in hand by the practitioner and the patient).
