D’Aucy is making the switch to vegetable brands

The tinned vegetable and egg product cooperative, D’Aucy (Theix, €1.2B turnover 2016), well-known for its tinned vegetable brand, achieves 80% of its turnover for major retail outlet own brands.

D’Aucy is looking for major labels to purchase in Spain, Italy and Poland to expand further. The cooperative already owns the Hungary “Globus preservers”. Its products are sold under the Le Roitelet brand in Gabon and the Congo.

Egg products account for 14% of its sales; they include separate egg whites and egg yolks and ready-to-eat omelettes. To move upmarket, the cooperative has also just created Cocotine, a brand of fresh and super-fresh eggs intended for outside catering. The group is investing €16M into its egg breaking facility in Ploërmel, which will boost its processed egg business.
