The specialist in the integration of industrial and robotic visions systems, Edixia Automation (Vern-sur-Seiche, thirty people), which belongs to the German Automation W+R group, is continuing with its innovation strategy. It is sponsoring the Gwel project to develop an electronic image processing solution for stand-alone vehicles. An operational demonstrator is being finalised. The robot is driven based on the movement of a part. Its trajectory is not programmed in advance, but takes place in real time.
Edixia intends to roll out its solution on the industrial market in 2017. This must then be followed by a first car robotic application and tests for driving assistance, before launch solutions onto the market in 2020.
Edixia Automation has created a specific R&D cell (five people) to improve the framework for its innovation strategy. The company is preparing for the launch of new products onto the car, aeronautical and cosmetics markets planned for 2017-2018.
