The Le Sayec hatchery (Caudan, 60 employees, 45% turnover to export) specialises in the production of turkey eggs for hatching and day-old poults. It has now been sold to the English turkey breeding firm Aviagen Turkeys Ltd., a subsidiary of the world leader in genetics, Aviagen. Aviagen Turkeys will benefit from the experience and expertise of the Bretagne hatcher which products 24 million eggs for hatching every year using some sixty farmers and about thirty service providers (sexing, insemination, etc.). Le Sayec is delighted to be able to keep its independence under the British flag. The company will be able to meet new demand from several foreign countries.
