The British specialist in producing shrink film for agri-food applications and “barrier” film, Linpac Packaging (Noyal-Pontivy, 450 employees) is joining the German group Klöckner Pentaplast (3,500 employees), a manufacturer of rigid and semi-rigid films for thermoforming on agri-food production lines (trays).
The two activities complement each other – “one creates the bottom and the other the top” -, thereby offering their customers a complete solution. A world giant will be created in the field of plastic film, with an estimated turnover of €1,8B.
The only French Linpac establishment exports 70% of its production to 75 countries, whereas Klöckner Pentaplast has 32 establishments in 18 countries on all continents except Africa.
The Noyal-Pontivy site may create a new production line and be open to new investment. This operation should allow Linpac to speed up its geographical expansion and KP to expand its technical capabilities and boost its present in the food industry; it is already found in medicine and pharmacy, office equipment, woodworking, industrial products, etc.
