Now American, but Hema remains loyal to Hénaff

The company Hema (Quimper, 105 employees, €25M turnover), a specialist in the design of machinery capable of filling all sorts of receptacles with viscous food products, is known predominantly abroad. The company achieves 90% of its turnover abroad. One machine for Lebanon (meat filling), another for Ecuador (yoghurt drinks) and also Mexico (table oil) and the United States (sauces). Hema is however known for supplying Hénaff for many years with filling machines for this famous little blue tin. The company was owned by the Swedish group Tetra Laval since 2003. In 2015, it was sold to the American group Barry-Wehmiller which was seeking to expand its presence in Europe. The two entities complement each other in the filling market. The company will be able to boost its international footprint by belonging to a powerful American group. Hema is now the company within the group in charge of developing international filling solutions.
