Brest will host Sea Tech Week on 10-14 October. This international week dedicated to marine sciences and technologies attracts the largest international specialists in the field. Canada will be guest of honour at this 10th event, with its main theme of the marine digital economy: virtual environments, observation and characterisation of oceans, satellite applications, remote detection, data management and processing, renewable marine energies, etc. Recognised internationally for its excellence via the Campus Mondial de la Mer, the Bretagne peninsula is home to many training and R&D bodies: Ifremer, Institut Universitaire Européen de la Mer (IUEM), ENSTA Bretagne, Lab-STICC, Service Hydrographique et Océanographique de la Marine (SHOM), Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique, Labex Mer and Technopôle Brest-Iroise. Before the event, a marine Hackathon will bring together developers, marine experts, studies and companies around digital data for a weekend of challenges and collaborative computer programming. A Marine and Digital Technomarket will also be set up. Designed as a genuine marketplace, industrialists will be able to discover the most innovative technologies from major laboratories in the marine and digital field.
