The Agrial cooperative group (Caen, Normandy, €4.2B turnover in 2014) and DLG (Denmark, €7.9B turnover) have announced their plan to build a mineral manufacturing factory for animal feed at Saint-Sauveur-des-Landes in Bretagne. An amount of €11M will be invested in this joint venture christened Ouestmin, held in equal shares by Agrial and Calcialiment, the French subsidiary of DLG. Its production capacity will be 50 kT and operations should start end 2017. The two groups state that Ile-et-Vilaine has been chosen for its central geographical location with respect to the French dairy and livestock areas. Both groups had already signed an agreement for a joint venture in the fresh vegetable sector last year.
