Artefacto (Rennes, 40 employees), a pioneer of augmented reality, unveils Urbasee, an app that projects 3D objects into the real world from a smartphone or tablet. For example, it can project a house in 3D and you can walk through the rooms on the site where it will be built. It offers a wide array of applications: urban planning, architecture, training, education, culture, tourism, amongst other.
With the app, you can download 3D contents generated with the main commercially-available software programmes (Sketchup, Autocad, Maya, 3DMax)… All you need to do then is select the file you want to use in Urbasee and point the screen of your smartphone or tablet to the site where you want to integrate it. You do not need to be a computer geek to master this app. Anyone can use it.
