Avril (Bruz), the leading animal feed company in France, is aiming to become one of the world leaders in farm efficiency management and optimisation thanks to nutritional and hygiene solutions. The group has therefore brought together 22 of its subsidiaries in animal nutrition and farm hygiene sectors under the name of ASA (Avril Spécialités Animales).
ASA resembles a service firm but it designs and produces its own additives and includes other products, like the Dielna liquid feeds (Bourg Beaudouin), recently boosted by taking over the activities of Provimi (Crevin). Avril plans to invest €200M between 2015 and 2020 to support the innovation and acquire other businesses. ASA thus launched the concept of Vstar nutritional additives in 2016 at the Eurotier fair.
Research is also under way in partnership with Sanders (Saint Gerand), whose experimental domain at Sourches has been added to ASA. The group has also taken control of Salus, a Brazilian animal nutrition specialist, and Ewebo, a German biosafety specialist. The group is targeting 50% of its business outside France from 2017 onwards.
