On the fringes of his recent visit to Armor-Meca (Pleslin Trivagou), Sabena Technics (Dinard) and Safran (Fougères), where one hundred jobs have been announced, the Minister for Defence, J.-Y. Le Drian, stated his desire to make Bretagne a “land of aeronautics”. He thus highlighted the example of Sabena Technics, a maintenance specialist for civil and military aircraft which, after some difficulties in 2012, is now in charge of maintaining French army helicopters (40% of its business).
Sabena has also just brought in two new contracts for light surveillance and reconnaissance ‘planes and renovation of C130. Safran will be supplying the new Airbus and the army’s drones and Rafales with electronics which will give rise to new jobs shortly.
