Specialising in infrared optical sensors to develop non-invasive and virtually instantaneous diagnosis solutions, Diafir (Rennes) has announced €600k investment to develop a production line for low-cost sensors. This decision has been made to meet a demand from a €2M contract signed with the DGA, in partnership with University Rennes 1 and Thales. The company nevertheless intends to remain with medical applications and use its sensors for disease detection (alternative to biopsies) before diversifying into the car and home automation sectors.
