Coming from the laboratory of Chemistry, molecular electrochemistry and analytical chemistry (Cemca – Chimie, électrochimie moléculaires et chimie analytique) of UBO (Université Bretagne Occidentale), EasyChelators (Brest) manufactures molecules to better diagnose and destroy tumours.
The project only aims to become profitable in 7 years but a first patent was filed in 2012. The innovation of EasyChelators consists of a “cage” or “trailer” that transports the metal to the cancer cells during radiotherapy and avoids damaging healthy tissue. The company is also developing new radiopharmaceutical products for the personalised treatment and follow-up of cancer patients. Tests have been performed on mice and on human cells in vitro and must now be validated by clinical trials in humans.
