Since October 2015, Eichrom (Bruz, 60 people), specialist in radioactivity, asbestos and environmental chemistry analyses on radioactive and potentially radioactive samples, is one of the two French laboratories to carry out analyses of asbestos on radioactive samples. A leader in this market, the laboratory is certified for analyses in conventional industrial and nuclear environments. The Breton company brings its expertise to the Eurofins network.
Eichrom has laboratories in Bruz but also Smart® mobile laboratories that allow it to bring its expertise and skills to major customers in the nuclear industry in a way that is fast, efficient and adaptable to all analysis needs.
This operation enables Eurofins to create an analytical platform for potentially radioactive samples that is unique in France, and thus to position itself as a key player in analyses for the nuclear industry. As for Eichrom, the company is integrating a network that is recognised in the bio-analysis market and consolidating its development for the years to come.
The Breton SME plans to invest €2 million by 2020 in order to double its analysis capacity. To accommodate its growth (+29%), it is also expanding its workforce. About fifteen people came to strengthen the teams in 2017. Some 20 recruitments are planned for 2018.
Eurofins has also acquired Laboratoire de Bromatologie de l’Ouest (Rospoerden, 50 employees), specialising in microbiological and physicochemical analyses of food products.
