On April 9, 2018, the city of Pluvigner welcomed Chicago-based Hill-Rom CEO John Greisch, who came to inaugurate what is now the group’s new showcase Hill-Rom experience center in Europe. Located next to the factory, long dedicated to the manufacture of Hill-Rom hospital beds, the Experience Center extends over 500 square meters. The venue is entirely dedicated to presenting solutions designed to help people get better care inside and outside the hospital.
The new Experience Center is an important investment for Hill-Rom, which has anticipated the incredible potential of new technologies in a complex health market. Patients, health professionals and most governments have new expectations. For several years now, Hill-Rom has had a mission: to enhance outcomes for patients and their caregivers. Through its Experience Center, the company intends to demonstrate its expertise in bringing this mission to life.
The Hill-Rom Experience Center offers visitors the opportunity to navigate through multiple health environments. The guest becomes a fictitious patient who begins a real course of care. He first consults his doctor who in a few minutes checks all vital signs thanks to highly innovative monitoring and diagnostics technology.
The fictitious patient is then hospitalized in a connected room. The bed monitors his posture, automatically transfers to the caregivers his weight data and allows him to enjoy many multimedia contents with a built-in tablet. This step precedes the operating room, where the surgeon uses the digital walls to consult the information of the patient file before performing a minimally invasive procedure on a surgical table adapted to robotic surgery.
The path proposed by Hill-Rom ends with the Intensive Care Unit. Its atmosphere has been designed specifically to contribute to the rest, recovery and overall health of the patient (soft light, sound nuisance sensor and smart surface, for example). The room is equipped with a motorized patient transfer system. As soon as his health allows, the teams will be able to mobilize the patient and allow him to switch to a rehabilitation or long-stay medicalized service.
Hill-Rom is now able to offer innovative solutions at every stage of the care journey. From early diagnosis to improved rehabilitation to connected hospitalization, it’s a true continuum of care that emerges from this Experience Center.
