Les Confitures de Raphaël (Saint-Coulomb) exports 30% of its jams to Japan, the USA and the Scandinavian countries, with the remainder supplied to local 3 and 4 star hotels, delicatessens and tea rooms just about everywhere in France.
The family business is also heralded by major chefs including Yves Camdeborde, who heard of the Bretagne company through one of his American customers who had discovered Raphaël jams when staying in Bretagne.
With an increase to two figures in its turnover and an annual production of thirty tonnes, the business should expand shortly. It regularly introduces new products, mainly a range of jams with no added sugar for diabetics, which took four years to develop, and is currently working on a Bretagne ketchup.
