Following a difficult financial year in 2013, Otima (Fougères, 206 employees) is refocusing on its core business of fine sheet metal with its expertise encompassing preliminary studies to final integration, including product manufacture. It has recorded growth in the last two financial years and is targeting more than €30M turnover in 2016. Otima is launching a €3M investment plan over three years for sheet metal cutting, folding and welding machinery.
The company works for a variety of sectors (energy, environment, transport, naval, medical, defence and aeronautics) and has Thales, STX and Schneider Electric as its customers. Export sales account for 80% of its production, either directly or via French prime contractors. Otima is also predicting twenty to 25 new jobs within three years.
The company has a metalworking and welding site in Casablanca (28 employees) enabling it to expand in Morocco and also benefit from a useful cost differential in certain markets.
