Palamatic Process (Brécé, 60 employees, turnover: €10 million; Fideip group) designs industrial machines and production lines incorporating powders. According to Thomas Lavallée, company CEO, “one plant in two in the world uses powders. Powders are everywhere: coffee, paint, agri-food, pharmacy, construction industry… But also explosive powders, in the nuclear sector.”
Palamatic Process offers turnkey solutions. A prototype is launched for each order. The machines are then customised to ‘reflect’ the customer’s brand. Some of the company’s customers include major French and international groups such as Nespresso, M&M’s, L’Oréal, etc.
35% of the turnover is obtained from export. The SME now has the United States in its sights, a high potential market. After a year’s preparatory work with support from Bretagne Commerce International, it has recently opened an office in Philadelphia.
The company has enlarged its premises in Brécé. To accompany the significant investments of its customers, it provides them with a test station featuring 35 machines, with 300 possible configurations. The customer arrives with their powder, tests the tools then composes their machine. Palamatic process plans on recruiting 10 to 15 people by 2019, as it is already at a rate of 5 recruitments/year.
