Biotech Santé Bretagne, Valorial, Vegepolys Valley, Pôle Mer Bretagne Atlantique and Roscoff biological station are actively involved in European networks and projects, and promote collaborative initiatives.
The Noé Bretagne network, through the European Projects Platform (2 PE) Bretagne, brings together key Breton stakeholders involved in the development and support of European R&I projects. This network helps research units and companies access European funding opportunities more easily.

  • Bretagne offers a wide range of advanced training programs in agri-food to prepare future professionals in health and nutrition (INRAE, Ifremer, l’ESIAB, Agro Rennes-Angers Institute, Universités). The NSA Master’s degree (Nutrition and Food Sciences) at the University of Rennes is particularly well-regarded for training future scientific managers in the fields of nutrition, nutraceuticals, food, and food sciences.
  • Bretagne is home to
    • National research organizations: CNRS, Ifremer, INRAE, IRSET, ANSES all connected to universities, university hospital centers, higher education institutions, and laboratory specialized in health and nutrition.
    • Biological resources centers: BrACySol, CIRM BIA, CRYOAQUA, UBOCC.
    • NAM2S scientific interest group (Nutrition, Food, Metabolism, Sport, and Health) brings together researchers, clinicians, and industry players in a multidisciplinary framework. Led by the NuMeCan Institute, this group strives for excellence in research on the dietary, environmental, behavioral, and metabolic determinants of health and chronic diseases affecting the liver and digestive system.
    • The « Aliments et Bien Manger » Chair, founded by the University of Rennes in partnership with 5 industry players, develops research at the crossroads of food sciences, health, environment, and social sciences, with the guiding principle of global health.
  • Centers supporting technological and technical innovation and platforms equipped with cutting-edge equipment are also present throughout the region. They contribute to a strong innovation dynamic focused on developing functional ingredients from marine and plant-based resources.These include Adria, INNOZH, IDmer, Vegenov, and CEVA, all brought together under the ACT Food federation.
