In the commercial war of tactical drones, Sagem (Safran group) has just won an estimated €300M contract relating to the acquisition of 14 drones by 2018. Its Patroller is 80% manufactured in France, mainly at Fougères for the electronic boards. Having been a long-time manufacturer of mobile ‘phones, the Sagem factory transformed itself with the manufacture of electronic boards for civilian and military applications in 2008. The transfer of production of aeronautical computers from Massy (Paris region) to Fougères that commenced in 2015 is reinforcing this reconversion of the electronics sub-contractor site into aeronautical equipment supplier for the future Airbus A320neo and Boeing 737 Max.
