Eight foreign buyer operations since the beginning of 2019
Bretagne Commerce International organised three foreign buyer operations in early October.
In partnership with Business France, Eric Vouland, Business Manager for the agri-food sector at Bretagne Commerce International, introduced Japanese buyers from the AEON (retail) group to Bretagne companies and B2B appointments were arranged between them in Paris.
Eric Vouland also accompanied four American buyers from the retailer Fresh Thyme Farmer’s Market and Kehe Distributors in Bretagne, in partnership with ANIA and Business France. The programme included factory visits, product tastings and B2B appointments with five Bretagne companies that were able to showcase their gastronomic know-how. A program highly appreciated by the buyers who are already planning to launch several products onto the American market.
The Tam Global Korean importers spent three days in the region for factory visits and in-depth trade discussions. This was Tam Global’s second visit to Bretagne and it is already planning to return in 2020 to expand its range of Bretagne products.
These three operations resulted in fifteen appointments with Bretagne companies, including seven visits to production sites.
The products sought by the buyers were in the bakery-pastry, ready meals, gourmet products and dog and cat food segments.
Since the beginning of the year, Bretagne Commerce International has already organised eight similar operations, mainly with Spanish fruit and vegetable wholesalers, Russian importers specialising in ingredients, importers from Jersey for miscellaneous food products, a Chilean wholesaler of fresh and frozen products and major European retail outlet accounts.
Further operations are planned by the end of the year.
