Underwater turbine blades on the Coriolis, DCNS and Litmab agenda

Under the Hydrofan collaborative project (€1.8M budget), certified by the Pôle Mer Bretagne-Atlantique, three players from the region of Lorient are joining forces to develop within three years a competitive blade for the promising underwater turbine market, with an estimated global potential of 115 GW. This blade in composite material should be strong, cost-saving and suitable for mass production with a view to the commercial phase. DCNS, Coriolis Composites and Litmab (Research laboratory at the Université de Bretagne Sud, now called Institut de Recherche Dupuy de Lôme), wish to contribute to the industrialisation of the underwater turbine and should be receiving support from the Region (€500k, the Lorient urban area (€125k) and the Departmental Council (€125k). http://fr.dcnsgroup.com | www.coriolis-composites.com | www-limatb.univ-ubs.fr | http://irdl.fr
