A skilled and committed workforce
- Each year, the Agro Rennes-Angers Institute trains 1,800 students in agriculture, food, and environmental fields, supported by a team of 495 members (including 130 teacher-researchers) across its 2 campuses and 6 teaching and research departments.
- INRAE Bretagne-Normandie is a major player in R&D for sustainable and resilient production systems, ensuring healthy food and environmental protection. With 681 hectares of meadows and crops available for experimentation, a team of over 1,100 researchers, engineers, and technicians work across 22 research units.
Technical innovation centers and experimental stations collaborate closely and are equipped with cutting-edge tools for field trials, including: Act Food Bretagne, the Carnot network, CEA Tech, the experimental station of Caté, Science and Technology of Milk and Egg Laboratory (STLO), the experimental stations of the Agriculture Chamber of Bretagne and the Cerafel: Auray (vegetables, robotics), Crécom (pigs), Kerguéhennec (agronomy, precision agriculture), Terre d’essais (vegetables), Trévarez (dairy). - In addition, numerous organizations support companies in innovation: Vegepolys Valley (global competitiveness cluster for plant-based industries), Valorial (innovation cluster for sustainable agriculture and agri-food sectors), Breizpack (network of packaging industry players in Bretagne), AGRETIC (program fostering project development between agriculture and agri-food companies and providers of digital and electronic solutions), CEVA (Center for the Study and Development of Seaweed), Cluster Algues Bretagne (Bretagne Seaweed Cluster)
